Meet Adara Anderson

I specialize in working with women struggling with anxiety, adjustment, and relationship issues. Clients come to me looking for a therapist who looks like them and can understand their worldview, because therapy should be a place where you feel safe and validated.

FAQs

Review our most commonly asked questions. If you are still unsure about therapy, you can book a free 15-min consultation call with us today.

  • All sessions are conducted via a secure and easy-to-use telehealth platform, similar to Zoom. Phone sessions can also be conducted on an as needed basis. We are not providing any in-person counseling at this time.

  • The first session will be an initial assessment to discuss your background information, history, and needs for treatment. During this first session, you will have the opportunity to see how therapy will work, review practice policies, ask questions, as well as determine whether or not you are comfortable with the therapist. The therapist will also review your intake forms and screenings with you.

  • Therapy sessions are typically 50-60 minutes. Depending on individual need, most sessions occur weekly or biweekly. You can discuss with your therapist what is best for you.

  • Typically therapists or counselors have their master’s degree in counseling, and may have additional certifications and specialities through continuing education and training.

While psychologists provide counseling services, they also provide psychological testing for schools, courts, and other entities. Psychologists usually have an advanced clinical degree.

Psychiatrists usually do not provide therapy/counseling services and are typically available for medication management. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who specializes in behavior. If medication is necessary, it is usually used in conduction with counseling/therapy. Medication therapy is not a replacement for therapy.
